WHY: Many of us want to be in caring, authentic relationships with others, but find it difficult to do. As BIPOC, we can face unique challenges to showing up fully and feeling like we belong. Since our society is built on white supremacy, racism, and other forms of oppression, we’ve been told often that we’re less than and that our feelings and needs don’t matter. This can interfere with us knowing how to be held in caring community and how to contribute to caring community - even when it’s available to us.
That’s why, the purpose of this space is to provide a regular opportunity for BIPOC individuals to come together and develop essential skills for community care and liberation. By practicing faithful witnessing and vulnerable sharing, participants can build trust, deepen connections, and build the foundation of practice to begin explore other forms of care, such as practical support and safety planning, within our other WildSeed community spaces.
