A program where organizers in crisis are accompanied by two veterans organizers to stay a safe location. The veterans provide fellowship and support with daily task while the organizer in crisis get supports from movement chaplains and mental health professionals.

Regenerative self-manumission is first and foremost a practice of resourced grieving. It is a way of being supported to take the time to chart the ways we have been hurt and the things we lost to the fire so we can praise the aspects of our humanity that are essential to our being. By grieving the loss we can reify our values and our ideal way of life.

Regenerative manumission is also a set of processes that realign movement forces with natural gravity so they can live and work in balance. So often our collective work is established by funding deadlines, tax deadlines, elections, and media cycles which are so often faster and less sustainable than the pace at which we live human lives, while also being too slow when we need them to respond to our crises.

Being in alignment with natural gravity means flowing to where things are heavy for as long as they are heavy while letting them be light the rest of the time. It means never moving so fast that you can’t slow down and take stock of what matters.

Furthermore, regenerative self-manumission is focused on ensuring the survival of people and communities, not organizations. We believe that organizations exist to serve the needs of the living. When we start to serve organizational interests at the cost of life, we become alienated from that life and the community of living beings.

It is a longer, resource intensive program where organizers are supported in building out wellness teams of spiritual workers, mental health professionals, medical professionals, coaches and chosen family support.

Organizers are supported over a 6 month period where they are supported in building individual support plans.

Social Reproductive Defense is a holistic way of thinking about safety and security prototypes by our comrades at the Movement Defense Trust.

It means embedding capacity builders within local movement ecosystems who support organizers in daily wellness, life, health and organizational tasks so that they have more emotional and mental capacity to make the security and strategic decisions that only they could make. It meant supporting by watching children, cooking meals, offering emergency funds to pay rent and holding healing spaces one day and facilitating meetings the next.

Through our collaboration with the movement defense trust we offer Social Reproductive Defense work to our ecology. Specifically we offer emotional support, movement chaplaincy, and wellness team creation to movement stewards.

At times, we also partner with other Movement Defense Trust advisors to offer capacity building support to local movement formations. This includes organizational development, facilitation and support prototyping radical ways to resource organizers on the ground.

We offer holistic support for values aligned movement formations. This includes leadership coaching, life coaching, and spiritual coaching.

In addition we offer organizational development support such as emergent strategic processes, conflict transformation and organizational healing.
